Antiquarian Book Fair in San Francisco

February 13, 2011

Those interested in books, as collectors, dealers, sellers, or readers, might be interested to know that the Antiquarian Book Fair in San Francisco this weekend has been very popular. I’m not sure I’ll make it today, though it is tempting. Today’s San Francisco Chronicle has an article about the fair, discussing how books have become more popular than ever, even in this age of technology. The article states, “The annual event, which alternates between San Francisco and Pasadena, is billed as the world’s largest rare book fair, with more than 230 vendors from 25 states and 12 countries. Chairman Michael Hackenberg, a San Francisco bookstore owner, estimated that between 6,000 and 8,000 tickets were sold, mostly to collectors and dealers.” Pretty amazing!
